Toys for Tots - A MAPA Christmas Event
Live Music, drink specials, and more!
Annual MAPA Holiday Party and Toys for Tots (in cooperation with the Fox Company Marines).
Entertainment once again by the award winning “Boat Drunks Band” along with Special Guests. Bring an unwrapped, new Toy for a child in need. Price includes complete Buffet dinner provided by MAPA, all music, silent auctions, raffles and fun. This year there will be plenty of seating, plenty of room to dance and party!! Full cash bar available. Further details will be provided to all members soon. Invite your friends and family to make this the best event of the year while we Party with a Purpose!!

MAPA annual Christmas Luau at Olympia Resort, Saturday December 3rd
For those who have been with MAPA for a while, you already know this is our blowout event of the year. We started this many years ago at Coconut Joe’s Beach Club, moved it to Shank Hall for a couple years, then to the Buckhead Saloon for a year and then on to the Center Count Sports Complex for a couple of years. Each of those had a lot of great things to offer us but none were perfect (no nearby hotel, too small, too large, etc.) This year we think we’ve finally hit on the PERFECT place – the Olympia Resort and Conference Center in Oconomowoc! Look at all of the great things they have to offer for our party:
For only $25 per person, you get:
o Opening act of Jim Hoehn and Kevin Mulvenna
o The Boat Drunks (one of the country’s best TropRock/Jimmy Buffett Tribute award winning bands!)
o Buffet dinner including Margaritaville grilled chicken sandwiches, Cheeseburger in Paradise sliders, Caribbean veggies, chips and potato salad
· Beautiful hotel complex with rooms for just $69 per night, not just the Saturday of our party but for surrounding nights as well. The hotel has:
o For a mere $10 more, you can add a Sunday breakfast for two in their restaurant. Wow!
o Onsite spa
o Indoor pool
o 2 restaurants
o Lounge (hmmm, after-party in the lounge…?)

Then stay for lunch with us after the walk.
The walk departs from the grounds of Discovery World. MAPA members will meet on the small hill just north of Discovery World, at the driveway to the Milwaukee Art Museum (right behind the MAM Sign. Look for our Banner. Please plan to arrive between 9:00 - 9:30 am to turn in your pledge collections and take the annual group photo. Walk starts at 10am.
Discovery World is located off of Lincoln Memorial Drive on Milwaukee’s Lakefront between the Milwaukee Art Museum and Summerfest Grounds.

Nov 2011 - MOTM - Key West, FL
Meeting of the Minds, Key West, FL November 2nd – 6th
If you’ve never been to MOTM, this might be the year you should consider going. This is the 20th anniversary of this event and it is sure to be a party to remember. This event truly defines the Parrothead “party with a purpose” spirit and raises a LOT of money for charities around the country. The limit is 3,500 Parrotheads and there are only a few hundred spots left. And at 20 years there are sure to be some special surprises this year! I’ve even started my own rumor about who I think will be there this year. Stop me at one of the upcoming events and I’ll share my (completely unfounded) rumor with you. A little about MOTM:
Who can attend? Any member in good standing of a Parrothead club. If you’ve paid your dues this year to MAPA, you are qualified!
What can I expect at MOTM? You can expect to meet some of the greatest, like-minded people in the world – Parrotheads! There are currently 235 clubs around the world and most of those clubs will be represented in Key West.
What type of entertainment is there? Well, if you can name a TropRock artist, chances are they will be there! Nearly all of the artists we’ve brought in over the years will be performing at various venues around Key West. You can see Jim Hoehn, the Boat Drunks, Don Middlebrook, Brent Burns, Kelly McGuire and others that have been in town recently performing at different times all day long for 5 days! PHiP (Parrot Heads in Paradise, our national charter) has an official schedule at http://www.phip.com/MOTM.asp and I also put together a schedule of events at other non-official venues to make sure you don’t miss anything.
